Magnetic Therapy refers to the use of magnets placed on the body to help the body to heal naturally. The theory behind magnetic therapy is that the magnetic fields produced by the magnets attract and repel charged particles in the blood, creating movement. This process is said to cause the blood vessels to dilate or expand, increasing the circulation and flow of oxygen to the affected area. Magnets have been used for centuries and their use can be traced back to the ancient Greeks, who used naturally occurring magnetic rocks for medical purposes. In recent years, the use of magnetic therapy has become mainstream due to their use by professional athletes such as golfers and football players to treat injured parts of their bodies. The TEK Magnetic Strap takes advantage of magnetic therapy to provide men a non-invasive, pain-free, comfortable and low-cost option for dealing with erectile dysfunction. Efficacy Of Impulse Magnetic Field Therapy
Treatment of erectile dysfunction (ED):
Christof Jaenicke, MD Joerg Gruenwald, PhD ABSTRACT This double-blind, placebo-controlled study was carried out in order to assess the efficacy of impulse magnetic field therapy (18 Hz, 5 µTs) for the treatment of erectile dysfunction, over a period of 3 weeks. 20 volunteers who suffered from erectile or orgasmic disturbances were randomly divided into either active treatment or placebo group (n=10 each). Efficacy was assessed in terms of intensity of erection, general well-being, sexual activity, duration of erection, and warm sensation in the genital area. In the active treatment group, all the included criteria were significantly improved at the end of treatment. The improvement was very significant (p < 0.01) concerning the criteria "duration of erection" and "warm sensation in the genital area". The differences between active treatment and placebo concerning "intensity of erection", "well-being" and "sexual activity" were highly significant (p < 0.001) in favor of verum. 80% (n=8) of active treatment-patients experienced improvement concerning "intensity of erection", "duration of erection", frequency of "warm sensation in the genital area" and "general well-being". The remaining 20% (n=2) were diagnosed with an influenza-like infection after the study, which very likely may have influenced the results. In contrast only 3 placebo-patients (30%) felt some improvement in their sexual activity. The rest (70%) reported no change at all. No side-effects were reported. |
